To the leadership of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), It is with a heavy heart and deep frustration that I address you today—on behalf of countless Zimbabweans who bleed green, gold, red, and white, but are ashamed of the ongoing disgrace that is the performance of our beloved national team, the Warriors. Where is the pride? Where is the commitment? Where is patriotism? For too long now, we have watched in disbelief as the Warriors have played like a team devoid of identity, strategy, and heart. The appalling results on the pitch are not just disappointing—they are a national embarrassment: The Warriors’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign was a calamity: -10 matches — 0 wins, 5 draws, 5 defeats. -The team failed to secure a single victory throughout the campaign. -Zimbabwe finished bottom of their group, unable to capitalize on opportunities and routinely outplayed. This isn’t a one-off bad day—it’s a consistent pattern of failure. The team looked lifeless, often toothless in attack, and hopelessly disorganized in defence. Even when facing inferior or depleted opposition, the Warriors failed to exploit their chances—raising tough questions about tactical awareness and fight. Leadership chaos compounded the problems: -The Warriors went through three coaches in one disastrous qualifying cycle, each failing to instill any identity or progress. -Off-field drama, including the resignation of an assistant coach following a bizarre on-air incident, further destabilized the squad. Even our proud performances—like a hard-fought draw with Nigeria or a spirited showing against Rwanda—feel hollow when weighed against the total lack of consistency and ambition shown week in, week out. You remind us that the Warriors made it to AFCON 2025, which is admirable—but simply qualifying isn’t enough. Qualification must be matched with performance, pride, and hunger. Average is no longer acceptable for a nation with the talent that Zimbabwe possesses. Let’s be clear: this is not just about bad luck. It’s about poor planning, weak leadership, questionable selection decisions, and a failure to nurture and harness talent—both local and abroad. Zimbabweans pay attention. We are passionate supporters. We stand with our team—but we refuse to cheer for mediocrity. When our Warriors take to the pitch, we expect heart, discipline, strategy, and results. Sadly, what we get is a repeat of the same underwhelming performances. ZIFA, it’s time to answer serious, burning questions: Why is there no coherent long-term football strategy? Why do we lack accountability at the coaching and technical level? Why is our team so inconsistent and poorly prepared? When will we see a Warriors team that reflects the talent and spirit of Zimbabwe? It’s time for real accountability, honest leadership, and a rebuild rooted in merit, discipline, and national pride. The country is hurting. The fans deserve better. The Warriors deserve better. We are calling—not for excuses—but for results. Or else, the entire ZIFA board must resign en masse.
