By Staff ReporterThe Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) apprehended a foreign national for his involvement in illegal possession and selling of unregistered medicines at an illegal operation in Harare. The arrest occurred on April 8, 2025, after information and subsequent raid of an unlicensed premise by CID Drugs and Narcotics detectives.In a press release by Commissioner P. Nyathi, police were notified on April 4, 2025, that a beauty spa was running illegally and had been reported to contain unauthorized drugs.Working on the tip in a swift manner, detectives searched the three buildings of the suspect: number 46 Van Praagh Avenue, Milton Park; number 48 Harare Drive; and number 157 Josiah Chinamano Avenue, all in Harare.Confirmed in the statement, the suspect was running a beauty spa business at the said address along Josiah Chinamano Avenue with no proper premises license. Others were also found to be treating specialist conditions such as laser removal of warts and hair without qualified people offering them. Police also removed huge amounts of unauthorized complementary medicine, such as body-improving commodities and skin-whitening cream, during the crackdown.The worth of the seized unregistered drugs stands at ZWG 450,000. Sadoer Breast Enlargement Cream, Sadoer Slimming Cream, Ampoule Serum Fresh Anti-Oxidiant, Sadoer Kojic Acid, and Sadoer Anti-Wringle Soothing are some of the seized products.The Commissioner reported that the ZRP is committed to wiping out drug business, affirming that “The Zimbabwe Republic Police has set up crack teams around the country targeting drug dealers and bases.”The police are soliciting public participation in the fight against drug trafficking by reporting information on drug dealing.
