By Staff Reporter Shamva – Former Deputy Minister of Finance, David Chapfika, 68, tragically died this morning after his Mercedes-Benz ML veered off a bridge near Chabwino, popularly known as “pabridge repaStondon,” and landed on its roof in a river. The accident occurred close to his home.According to multiple reports, the fatal accident occurred after Chapfika’s vehicle reportedly collided with another car before careening off the bridge and overturning. Emergency services were on the scene, but Chapfika succumbed to his injuries.A prominent figure in Zimbabwean politics, Chapfika was a dedicated member of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) and served in various government capacities, most notably as the Deputy Minister of Finance.
