By Dr Masimba MavazaSometimes a person is tempted to criticize any one who has left office. We probably all have been tempted, in fact. And we all know that sometimes it’s difficult to resist. The one who leaves the office may have been crap, or a star, or (most probably) an average blend of good and bad. So the issue – with a very few exceptions – is not about how bad he was, but how good you are and what are your intentions. In fact it’s mostly about how badly you need to be relevant. Badmouthing someone is one of the easiest things you can do: indeed, the person is not around any more, is he? And anyway, what would you and your colleagues gain by defaming him. But then think about this: what will those same colleagues think and say about you when you leave the room?Let’s make a graduatory of some possible comments when you’ve left the room:Rutendo Ben Matinyarare has embarked on an open attack of the former Director General in the President’s office DG Isaac Moyo. In his article entitled “𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗜𝗢 𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗, 𝗜 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗠𝗬 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦.”Rutendo is a shameless opportunistic person with a very big ego. He has successfully managed to full himself believing that he is one of the best speakers and writers on earth. All what Rutendo Ben Matinyarare is trying to do is simply to try and advertise his pathetic book. Rutendo believes that he has a large following. He believes that he is doing some journalistic adventure. Rutendo must know that Journalistic objectivity is a principle within the discussion of journalistic professionalism. Journalistic objectivity refer to fairness, disinterestedness, factuality, and non partisanship, but most often encompasses all of these qualities. To achieve such wide acceptability, Rutendo must avoid overt partiality. The demonstrably correct information is the stock-in-trade. Rutendo in his pathetic unsubstantiated allegations made wrong judgements which steer clear doubt and ambiguity. His article failed that, widely acceptable neutrality. Objectivity in journalism aims to help the audience make up their own mind about a story, providing the facts alone and then letting audiences interpret those on their own. To maintain objectivity in journalism, journalists should present the facts whether or not they like or agree with those facts. Objective reporting is meant to portray issues and events in a neutral and unbiased manner, regardless of the writer’s opinion or personal beliefs. So if Rutendo considers himself as a writer he has managed to embarrass himself. Rutendo Ben has shown that he does not understand the work DG rtd Isaac Moyo was doing. The DG went all out of his way to support Zimbabweans in the UK who confronted the British government over sanctions against Zimbabwe. The fact that Ben Rutendo Matinyarare was not given money which he demanded so that he can add his voice on the war against sanctions does not make the DG a person who did not fight sanctions against Zimbabwe. It is further important for Rutendo to realise that DG rtd Isaac Moyo is on the Sanctions list. The point here is that people will interpret your criticism as a defense mechanism and as a weakness. If you badmouth a person who has left office it will not be seen as just the right thing to do – because it’s not useful to anybody. And especially not to you, because your personal brand will is negatively tainted by your own words. The frame of reference of the listener is also important and no reasonable person will buy your book if you think scandalising Isaac Moyo will give you milage you are just lying to yourself. Will the people who trusted the retired DG be happy to admit that they made a mistake (if that is the case)? Will the people who worked well with the retired DG be frank with you? Will the officers who now report to new DG including the DG trust you more if you criticize their ex-boss? The answer is three times “No”. The truth is that the President’s office had no money for you they had no budget for what you wanted to do and as grapes are always sour you throw this unsubstantiated nonsense which is an attempted advert If you want to fight sanctions do it without splashing the former DG with dirty. By discussing the negative issues you have shown the people your wisdom or lack oof it. If there is little respect left you should also dwell on the positives openly, in a neutral and constructive manner, you will learn more about the fight against sanctions and where these issues came from. But above all, you will gain respect from your team, your peers and your bosses… and who knows, even from those paying you to discredit the former DG. Scandalising Isaac Moyo is a bad way to look for money. For your own information you are not the only one fighting sanctions. There are true patriots who have set aside time to demonstrate against sanctions for no pay. They did not try to extort the government to pay them. Shame on you Matinyarare Rutendo. You maliciously contended that “Under Moyo’s leadership, the once-formidable CIO became ineffective at fighting national security threats as it focused on fighting political battles only.”This statement is unfortunate. In case you did not know during Moyo’s time at the red bricks Zimbabwe enjoyed peace and the CIO during Moyo’s time became a professional organisation. The opposition was given so much freedom including the freedom of disbanding itself. There is no other DG who had done that. During his tenure a lot of internal and external threats were thwarted. I know you do not know this. Its a pity the days you were complete with all your faculties are gone and only a shell of yourself left. You accused the whole president’s office of failing to prevent sanctions “It failed to fight and counter sanctions or to stop the chemical war and flood of toxic cancer-causing GMOs into our nation, despite its own internal reports exposing foreign intelligence agencies as key players in this chemical war by GMOs against Zimbabwe. And now, the devastating result? Zimbabwe holds the tragic title of having the world’s highest cancer death rate—proof of the suspected chemical and biological warfare waged against us.”This statement is unfortunate and totally untrue. You are trying to bolster your case against the food industry. You have failed in that case and you are shamefully throwing your vitriolic snd diabolic accusations against the man of God. Your idiocy has no limit. You accused the former DG for sabotaging the country what nonsense is this. You were doing good advertising for Honourable Dr Chiyangwa. Maybe he did not pay you. You should ashamed of yourself for this satanic statement “But it wasn’t just failure that characterized the DG’s tenure; more insidious was sabotage. “This has far reaching consequences and implications yet you see nothing wrong. One wonders if you did not leave your brains in South Africa when you were deported for your uselessness. Isaac Moyo and his team are patriots. It is going too far to accuse Moyo to be a traitor simply because you are being sued for your big headed lacking brains. To prove that you have a mental crisis you mix your case and Moyo’s work. You do not understand DG rtd Moyo’s job. For your own information DG Moyo left his position an accomplished Zimbabwean who has fought and defended his country with everything in his disposal. DG Moyo inherited the organisation which was divided into four as some were and maybe still paying allegiance to G40. Some had planted their loyalty to elder Mutasa and the Garmatox. Some are still personal asserts for Jonathan Moyo and obviously some are Chamisa’s ghosts. Moyo united most of them and introduced a professional organization. You must not forget that Moyo fought against sanctions he set teams engaging EU America and the UK. You may have not notice that the President enjoyed foreign trips without demonstrations from some misguided opponents. This was the a score Moyo scored in protecting the head of state. Your accusations Rutendo are fabrication of your retarded thinking. You mist be ashamed if you don’t know how CIO works you are more than welcome to shut your big mouth and trap your lunacy in your empty skull. DG Moyo had served his term and served additional two years. You need to find ways of getting money not dragging the good name of Isaac Moyo in the mud. Isaac Moyo will not respond to this nonsense. He knows better that if a pig jumps on the mud you mist not join it in there. Post navigation Will the interim’s New Local Government Caucus Appointment Improve Municipal Service Delivery?
