By Ilyana SitholeThe Harare Athletics Board Chairperson, Cousinet Simunyu, has announced that they will be hosting their first of many to come, Awards Ceremony tomorrow, Saturday 8 February, at David Livingstone Primary School hall from 1600 -1800 hrs.The ceremony aims to celebrate athletes, coaches, technical officials, and other contributors who put up sterling performances during the 2024 athletics season. Simunyu emphasized that the ceremony will be a celebration of the achievements of those involved, a recognition of their dedication, and passion for athletics in Harare.“This event reflects our commitment to excellence and our pursuit of greatness,” said Simunyu. Considering the need for inclusivity, leaving no-one and no place behind, she added that such opportunities should be granted to to all aspiring athletes and officials irrespective of their backgrounds. “Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant athletics community that inspires the next generation,” she stated.Lastly, the award ceremony is meant to honor dedication and excellence of athletes spanning across several categories to celebrate the different talents within the athletics community. Be that as it may, the ceremony will not only celebrate the 2024 achievements but also recognize tomorrow’s potential, reuniting once again the spirit of togetherness within the athletics family.
