The renovation of Torwood Hospital in Kwekwe is coming along nicely, according to Hon. Owen Ncube, the Midlands Province’s Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution. Minister Ncube underlined the government’s commitment to offering all residents access to high-quality, reasonably priced healthcare during a visit of the facility today, September 17, 2024.

The hospital, which is almost finished and was constructed using Devolution Funds, is anticipated to relieve some of the pressure on Kwekwe General Hospital. The appointment of a resident physician, the acquisition of doctors’ quarters, the drilling of a borehole, the improvement of the electricity supply, and general hospital cleaning were among the significant accomplishments emphasised by Minister Ncube.

“These achievements represent a solid foundation for the full resumption of operations at Torwood Hospital,” Minister Ncube said. Additionally, he thanked the government for its steadfast assistance in reviving Midlands Province’s healthcare system.

In addition, he applauded Redcliff’s water supply for promoting industrial growth and hygienic practices. He also urged other local authorities to follow the President’s framework for better service delivery. Bringing Torwood Hospital up to the level of an upper-middle-class society is the ultimate goal of the ongoing renovations. Midlands Province has a great opportunity to advance towards high-quality healthcare with combined efforts.

Minister Ncube expressed gratitude to all parties involved for their assistance, emphasised the significance of teamwork in attaining the intended results, asked the public to support government initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare and advancing regional development as the hospital gets ready to reopen.
