The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is actively investigating a daylight robbery that happened in Mvurwi on March 14th, 2025, while apprehending suspects in a major theft case in Mutare and seeking information in two murder cases.

Mvurwi Robbery: US$14,100 Stolen

Three suspects who were traveling in a black Toyota Probox hijacked a complainant in a Honda Fit Hybrid along GMB Road near Mbizi location Turn-off, Mvurwi, police report. The suspects blocked the complainant’s vehicle by force, broke the windows, and stole a handbag with US$14,100 in cash, an Ecocash Debit Card, and an Innbucks Visa card. The ZRP is appealing to anyone with information on this case to report at their nearest police station.

Mutare Robbery: US$25,000 Recovered, Suspects in Custody

In a contrasting development, the ZRP has succeeded in arresting Munyararadzi Madzure (39) and two minors (16) for a grievous robbery committed at Chikanga in Mutare on 14th March 2025. The suspects reportedly stole US$25,000 in cash and used the money to buy a Honda Fit vehicle and three iPhones. The police recovered the stolen vehicle and cell phones. #notocrime

Mutare Murder: Two Arrested in Hoe Handle Assault

The ZRP also informed of the arrest of Dylan Mudia (26) and Athell Mukondyo (23) for the murder of Ryan Zindi in Chikanga, Mutare, on 14th March 2025. The suspects allegedly beat up Zindi with a hoe handle, severely injuring him, after accusing him of stealing car keys and a phone. Upon realizing Zindi was unconscious, the suspects drove him to the police station. He was pronounced dead at Victoria Chitepo Hospital.

Kwekwe Murder: Police Search for Three Suspects

Kwekwe police are seeking assistance from the public to arrest Kenias Mapfumo, Armstrong Marumahoko, and Mathias Tatenda Dhlamini, who are suspected of murder after they killed Shepherd Mavhangira (45) at Mushange Business Centre, Zhombe, on 13th March 2025. The suspects reportedly struck Mavhangira on his forehead, thigh, and left bicep with bricks, which led to his instant death. Mavhangira was allegedly attempting to prevent the suspects from throwing bricks at customers in a tavern. Anyone with information is asked to contact their nearest police station.

The incidents are typical of the ZRP’s attempts to fight crime and ensure public safety. The police are calling on citizens to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.
