Looking at National Projects and National Looting

BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA

In a very stormy and interesting week in Zimbabwe, a plea to have Fraudsters and national looters arrested made headlines.

This followed a year of flagrant corruption, which was done without any accountability and a single iota of shame.

Those singled out for corruption publicly and boastfully admitted to being the devils behind corruption in Zimbabwe.

Many watched as the country descended into chaos with only two people flying money around in a provocative manner.

The nation was insulted as the ZVIGANANDAS disrespectfully ask, “ So what will you do about it?” A corrupt class of the untouchables emerged, living in the country, feeling vulnerable.

The concept of untouchability became deeply rooted in Zimbabwe’s social and cultural contexts, particularly associated with Chivayo and Tagwirei, with historical caste systems like in tenders and gold.

The corrupt protected rich developed a social practice of ostracizing certain groups deemed “impure” or “polluting,” leading to severe social exclusion and discrimination of those who try to stand for the truth.

The poor struggling masses would be called fools for failing to be awarded tenders, and idle people get rewarded with cars and money.

Never in the history of money was money so abused and given away to reward laziness.

Historical and Social Context is enshrined in the dirty donations which seemed to be rewarded in the name of ZANU PF.

This idiocy began to be associated with the party, and as party leaders took no action, the evil doers started name-dropping to vindicate their deeds covered in donations.

On the surface, it appears as a clear donation, while under the surface, a great looting is underway on a proportion which was never been seen.

Caste Systems: In the new Zimbabwean corrupt way, certain castes were considered “untouchable” Zviganandas, facing extreme social segregation and stigma but heavily protected.

Legal and Social Reforms were ignored.

There are laws aiming to address and reduce such corrupt practices, but the laws are enforced sparingly.

Emotional and Psychological ballooning ego cropped through.

Feelings of power and specialness made Individuals experiencing untouchability feel profound superiority and isolate themselves from every other Zimbabwean.

The Zvigananda did not only keep to wealth looting, they ventured into politics and gave Stigma and Shame a different meaning.

Many Zimbabweans have developed Resilience and Activism against such evil, which seemed to be ordained.

Many affected communities have shown remarkable resilience and led movements for social change, but have lacked support from the powerful.

Complexity of Issues: Addressing deeply ingrained corruption covered in philanthropy and bullish social attitudes and practices can be challenging and requires multifaceted approaches.

Principles of equality and dignity, which are central to human rights frameworks, are eroded as those who should speak up are silenced by donations and political pressures.

The ZVIGANANDAS do not have industry or development to point to in their dark deeds masquerading as investments.

National projects and personal projects differ significantly in scope, purpose, stakeholders, and impact.

The ZVIGANANDAS are not doing national projects, but they are engaging in self-enriching projects.

National projects are large-scale initiatives undertaken by governments or national entities, affecting entire countries or significant populations.

These are seen by their response to public interest.

Public Interest is often aimed at addressing national needs, development goals, or public welfare infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

This then brings in the Geo Pomona initiative.

The works of Dilesh Nguwaya must never be confused with Chiganandarism.

Typically funded through government budgets, public funds, or international aid/ loans, Geo Pomona is not in any way funded by the government, but it is a self-sustaining project with a cut into the national interest.

Stakeholders include government agencies, public institutions, and often broad segments of the population.

The benefits flow straight away to the roots, and the advantages are never scratched but bloom brightly from the roots to the top.

Examples of National infrastructure development are roads, power plants, public health initiatives, and national economic reforms, which all flow from the Geo Pomona initiative.

This contrasts clearly with the Personal Projects synonymous with Chivhayo and Tagwirei, whose roots are plunged into Individual Focus.

Personal projects are initiatives undertaken by individuals for personal goals, interests, or needs.

Private Objectives Driven by personal aspirations, show off wealth, and cater to individual needs.

The evil of these personal projects is that they are not personally funded; they are funded through public funds and benefit individuals.

The Stakeholders of Zvigananda Investment Service primarily involve the individual and possibly close associates, family, or a small team.

This shows that Dilesh Nguwaya’s National projects typically have broader societal impacts and can never be compared to Chivhayo’s personal project, which is more individual-centric.

Putting Dilesh Nguwaya in the same basket as the known boastful ZVIGANANDAS will not be fair.

Geo Pomona is a National project that targets national development, while personal projects serve individual objectives

In Geo Pomona, you can easily see the Alignment with National Goals.

This project aligns with and contributes to national development objectives.

Geo Pomona, led by Dilesh Nguwaya, has been making significant strides in transforming Zimbabwe’s waste management landscape.

It is therefore wrong to even think of Nguwaya and Chivayo in the same league.

We can not just imagine but really see the Key Achievements by Geo Pomona.

The transformation of Pomona Dumpsite became a reality.

Geo Pomona took over the notorious Pomona dumpsite in Harare in 2022 and turned it into a model facility, complete with new roads, electrical lines, advanced security systems, and recreational facilities like a FIFA-certified soccer pitch.

The company aims to expand its waste management services to all other nine provinces of Zimbabwe, backed by “cabinet authority” granted in 2022.

Though this expansion has raised concerns among local authorities, it is a project from the streets of heaven.

Geo Pomona is working on implementing a waste-to-energy plant at Pomona, expected to generate 16-22 megawatts of electricity.

This project is Internationally Recognised.

Dilesh Nguwaya has received several honours for his work, including an honorary doctorate from the International Institute of Philanthropy and a Professional Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Management from the City University of Paris.

This fete can never be bundled in the Chigandarism looting system.

For his efforts in Zimbabwe, Nguwaya was also recognized by Leaders Without Borders Development Centre in the UK for his innovative approaches to waste management.

Geo Pomona emphasizes public-private partnerships for sustainable waste management and power generation.

The company focuses on cutting-edge waste management technologies to address environmental challenges like climate change.

Their projects aim to create jobs and contribute to cleaner environments It is then interesting that we seem to paint Geo Pomona with the same brush designed for ZVIGANANDAS.

Fraudsters and investors are distinct in their intentions, actions, and impacts on others.

Fraudsters have a Deceptive Intent. Fraudsters deceive others for personal gain, often using false promises or misrepresenting facts.

They make Illicit Profits and splash their ill-gotten funds around.

They seek to profit illegally, typically at the expense of others who are misled.

Lack of Transparency: Fraudulent schemes often involve hiding true intentions or facts.

Up to this day, not even a person knows what business Chivhayo does.

Fraud can cause significant financial and emotional harm to victims, and in this case, the nation is the bleeding victim.

Geo Pomona is in Legitimate Financial Engagements.

Investors put money into ventures, assets, or businesses with an expectation of returns.

Investors typically assess risks and make decisions based on available information.

It is therefore important that we understand theKey Distinctions.

Zviganandarism involves deception, while legitimate investing involves disclosure and risk acknowledgment.

Zvigananda are illegal outfits that use money to support and buy loyalty.

While proper investment is legal and regulated.

Zvigananda often focuses on quick, unsustainable gains through deceit, while investing involves seeking returns through legitimate economic activities.

ZVIGANANDAS are the true definition of Investment Scams: Their schemes blur lines between legitimate investing and fraud.

Labelling Nguwaya as Chigananda is not only wrong but totally incorrect.
