By Cimba Shepherd Nhamo The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has announced that online applications for Form One enrollment at government and non-government boarding schools for the 2025 school year will commence on November 1st. The application period will close on December 31st, 2024.Applicants can submit their applications through the Electronic Ministry’s Application Platform (EMAP). This platform provides a convenient and user-friendly experience, allowing parents to apply from the comfort of their own homes.November 1st, 2024, marks the beginning of the online application period, while Grade Seven results will be released on December 1st, 2024. The application period will close on December 31st, 2024.Each applicant is allowed to make up to five active applications. Successful applicants will be notified via SMS from their respective school heads. However, applicants who receive an offer from one school cannot apply to another unless they decline the initial offer.The application status will be displayed as pending, accepted, processed, or rejected. Parents are advised to apply early and have alternative arrangements in place, as boarding places are limited.Last year, over 100,000 learners applied for Form One places through EMAP, with 25,000 spots available. The Ministry aims to eliminate corruption and provide transparency through this platform.Parents requiring assistance can contact the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education or visit the EMAP website. By utilizing EMAP, parents can secure a spot for their child at one of Zimbabwe’s top boarding schools, paving the way for a successful educational journey.The online application process promises to bring convenience and efficiency to parents and guardians, making it easier for them to take the first step towards securing a bright future for their children.
