Addressing thousands of delegates in his closing remarks, President Mnangagwa praised the flawless organisation, vibrant discussions, and clear sense of purpose that characterised the four-day indaba, describing it as “a showcase of our Party’s discipline, vision, and organisational capacity.” “The curtain now comes down on our historic and successful 22nd National People’s Conference here in Manicaland Province. The organisation has been impeccable, the sessions well-coordinated, and the facilities top-notch, in line with global best practice. ZANU PF has once again demonstrated that we are a mammoth revolutionary mass movement—transformative, modernising, and determined to ensure that we, the people of this great country, remain masters of our own destiny,” said President Mnangagwa. A Party United in Vision and Action The President commended the delegates for their robust and factual deliberations, noting that the resolutions passed at the conference would serve as the Party’s strategic compass as Zimbabwe accelerates its journey towards Vision 2030. He called for the centralisation and unity of Party management under one leadership and reiterated the importance of adhering to the ZANU PF Constitution. “Each Party member must subject themselves to the Constitution, the minority to the majority, lower structures to higher structures, and all to the Central Committee and Congress. This order must be reinforced across every level and every League of our Party,” he emphasised. Driving Development and Industrialisation President Mnangagwa underscored that the Party’s resolutions reflect a strong commitment to industrialisation, modernisation, and improving citizens’ quality of life. He said the Conference had reaffirmed ZANU PF’s role as the vanguard of national development. “Our determination to expand value chains, speed up rural industrialisation, and boost agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and tourism must be anchored at the grassroots level. Every province, district, and cell must translate resolutions into concrete programmes that lift our people from poverty to prosperity,” said the President. The First Secretary of ZANU PF added that the Party’s development thrust aligns with the forthcoming National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), urging ministries, departments, and agencies to enhance collaboration through the Whole of Party, Government, and Society approach. Showcasing Confidence and Progress President Mnangagwa also reflected on the various side events that accompanied the Conference, including the commissioning of key infrastructure projects such as the Mutare National Pharmaceutical Warehouse and the Mega Market Flour Milling Plant. “These projects are a testament to the Second Republic’s commitment to decentralised development and to ensuring that every province becomes an economic hub,” President Mnangagwa added. He applauded the growing number of exhibitors at the Conference, saying it was evidence that the business community and entrepreneurs continue to have confidence in ZANU PF’s policies. The President further commended the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa, and various stakeholders for their advocacy on critical social issues such as cancer awareness, drug and substance abuse, and environmental stewardship through the National Tree Planting Season launch. Strengthening the Bond Between Party and PeoplePresident Mnangagwa called on delegates to take the outcomes of the Conference to the grassroots, ensuring that ordinary citizens understand and participate in implementing the Party’s resolutions. “As you go back to your provinces, wards, and villages, tell our members that ZANU PF and the people’s revolution are marching forward, gaining strength and popularity with each passing day. No one must be left behind,” he urged. He emphasised that ZANU PF remains the only tried and tested custodian of Zimbabwe’s liberation legacy and development agenda.“ZANU PF is alive, vibrant, and strong. We are focused on improving our people’s quality of life. Hatidzokeri shure we will continue to fulfil our promises,” declared the President to loud applause. Anti-Sanctions Call and Unity MessageLooking ahead, President Mnangagwa reminded delegates that October 25 marks the SADC Anti-Sanctions Day, calling for unity in mobilising the nation and the region against the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe. “Through combined regional and international efforts, the walls of sanctions must crumble. United we stand, divided we fall. Victory is certain,” he said. President Mnangagwa, in his closed remarks he urged Party members to remain loyal, disciplined, and committed to the values of unity, peace, and development — the enduring pillars of ZANU PF. “Let us rededicate ourselves to serving the people wholeheartedly. Stay with them in their successes, hold their hands in their struggles. Tell them that ZANU PF is strong — the Party is on the move,” he said. With that, President Mnangagwa officially declared the 22nd National People’s Conference closed, wishing all delegates safe travels back to their respective provinces. “Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene vayo — ilizwe lakhiwa, libuswe, likhulekelwe ngabanikazi balo.
