The commission made it clear that the news is false and must be ignored.The PSC issued a statement on the wholesale spread of misinformation, and teachers and would-be workers in particular focused their attention. The misinformation had alleged that the PSC had put teachers under a new method, which was denied by the commission.“The Public Service Commission wishes to advise its valuable stakeholders to disregard the fake news circulating on social media claiming that the PSC has implemented a new deployment policy targeting teachers. This claim is false,” the statement emphasized. “The message should be dismissed and condemned with the contempt it deserves.”Additionally, the commission explained that there are no active recruitment campaigns as advertised falsely. The PSC reaffirmed that its recruitment activities continue normally, using official established channels. Candidates are warned in earnest to confirm any job offers or recruitment notices through official sources.The PSC asserted its devotion to transparency and accountability by noting that formal pronouncements on opportunities and progress in the Civil Service are communicated through official avenues. These are the PSC Online Registration portal, PSC physical offices, the official website, and authentic social media pages.“Prospective employees are advised to register through the PSC Online Registration or visit any PSC offices for assistance. The Commission also posts updates and announcements using the official website and legitimate social media handles and platforms,” the statement explained.The commission was shocked by the resultant damage inflicted by disinformation spread, most notably loss of trust in sincere recruitment techniques. The PSC called for vigilance and not believing false information, supporting the establishment of a rightfully well-informed country.“The Public Service Commission remains committed to supporting our educators and enhancing the quality of education in Zimbabwe. Spreading false information can undermine trust in legitimate employment processes. Let us shun falsehoods and work together to build a legitimately informed and vigilant society,” the statement concluded.
