For so many years, the pain of losing her has remained a part of our lives, woven into the very fabric of who we are.

It wasn’t just us. This month, countless others remember their mothers, too. For anyone who has lost their mother during this time, you know the heartache, the emptiness that never quite fades. September holds a grief that feels heavy, a sorrow shared by many but deeply personal to each of us. It’s a month that reminds us of our greatest loss, the one we can never fully recover from.

To everyone who has lost their mother this month and any other month, we stand with you. We know the nights that feel endless, the days when the silence is too loud. We know the deep ache in your soul, the pain that can’t be put into words. Nobody knows the troubles we see. Nobody knows our sorrows. But through it all, we hold on.

We hold on to the love they gave us. The warmth of their embrace, the wisdom in their words, the strength they passed on to us in every lesson. Our mothers, though gone, are never truly absent. They are in our hearts, in our minds, in the ways we live our lives. Their love is the reason we keep going, even when the pain feels unbearable.

The grief of losing a mother is a heavy burden. It’s a wound that time can’t fully heal, and there will always be moments when the loss feels as raw as it did on that very first day. But in our suffering, there is also strength. The strength they gave us, the resilience they instilled in us. We survived because they taught us how.

To those of you grieving this month, know this, it’s okay to cry, to feel broken, to miss her so deeply that it feels like your heart might shatter. But through it all, remember that her legacy lives on in you. You are her legacy. Every step you take, every challenge you face, you carry her with you.

Yes, we have suffered. We have cried, and we have struggled. But we will continue to endure. We will continue to honour their memory by living with the love they gave us by staying strong when life feels unbearable and by holding on to the precious gift of their legacy.

Our mothers may be gone, but their love is eternal. Through the darkest days and the deepest grief, it is their love that keeps us standing. Through it all, we hold on. Home and Away.
