By Regina Pasipanodya Easter is one of the major celebrations of the Christian community, and the association of it with the resurrection of Jesus Christ has its people overwhelmed with joy. The occurrence of that resurrection proclaims a very powerful and convincing message of hope, new life, and change. It is a prompting that however unfavorable our situation seems, we can still switch sides and be the bearer of a bright future through Christ’s fullness and glory without looking back at the darkness of the past.This is not just a historical matter. The resurrection of Jesus has influenced not only Christians but also people of other faiths. The message that God sent His Son who was unwanted, to be murdered and the resurrect the miracle, was the finale of a series of struggles that presented the hope of the power of mankind. As we face the fact of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, we are encouraged to think what areas of our lives we need to resurrect.Just as Jesus rose from the grave, coming out of the tomb, breaking free from death, so too can we be free from our personal sufferings and difficulties. We see that we are in Christ through the resurrection which means that our past mistakes and present situations are not the dead ends of our lives but stepping stones to our bright future. We celebrate the victory of the resurrection of Christ, who is the source of our new life, the hope, and love we have in Him that are the forces leading us to ascend the mountain of our inner peace.Being raised with Christ is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing journey of change. It is a journey of becoming the new person, of surrendering our will to the force of God and starting life anew through the ideals of love, kindness, and forgiveness. The one who promised us, Emmanuel, through the Holy Spirit, God’s people, will always be with us, supporting and directing our hearts.In the present time, the fear of not knowing about the future can be overwhelming for any person. On the flip side, the return of Christ is the best tool to beat those negative feelings. It points out that in the toughest of circumstances, we are still able to find hope for a better future. Our resurrection with Christ teaches us to confront our fears with the strength and confidence that only He can give us.Christ’s resurrection is a divine present to the people, and it presents us with an opportunity to have a new life and a fresh start. It’s a call to stop carrying the old and to welcome the new, the act of getting rid of the old and facing a brand new day. Dear reader, a celebration of Easter serves as a year’s reminder to all of us that this is the utmost gift that is available to us regardless of who we are or what kind of life we are into.The resurrection story of Christ has as much to do with people’s rebirth as it does with the hope of the community. If we join with Christ and rise from death, we are going to love, empower one another, and be a community that is loving and praying for one another. Thus, the resurrection becomes a clear symbol of oneness, reassuring the idea of the common endeavor and the common experience of joy.Christ’s resurrection is a telling sign of humanity’s hopeful, restorative, and renewing power. In our Easter celebration, we are called to resuscitate our lives with Christ by our side, thus leaving the darkness of our past and welcoming a renewed life. May this process of change lead us to the source of love and light that Christ embodies and may we come through our individual difficult times and hardships, revitalized to live a hopeful, compassionate, and forgiving life.
