Zanu PF politburo member CDE Tshinga Dube has cautioned citizens to be wary of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s advisers, who may be motivated by personal gain rather than the nation’s interests. Speaking at the burial of liberation war hero Killion Dube, Tshinga Dube expressed concern that these advisers might be “singing for their supper” at the expense of the country.

While acknowledging Mnangagwa’s significant contributions to the liberation struggle, Tshinga Dube emphasized the importance of advising the President in a way that benefits the nation, not just individuals. He noted that the upcoming Zanu PF conference is an administrative one, not an elective one, and urged careful consideration of the advice given to the President to ensure his legacy is not tarnished.

The late Killion Dube was hailed as a pioneer of the liberation struggle, and his contributions were acknowledged by Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister Judith Ncube. Tshinga Dube’s remarks highlight the ongoing debate within Zanu PF regarding succession and the role of advisers in shaping the President’s decisions.

Many provinces are stampeding to ill advise the president to disregard the constitution and seek a third term. Despite the President saying more than once that he is a constitutionalist and will not seek any third term. province after province has been loudly calling for the president to stay forever.

President Mnangagwa has achieved in a short time what many presidents have failed in many decades. The legacy built by the president is about to melt into a sea of confusion as provinces are trying to arm twist the president to extend his term.
