ZANU PF Central Committee member and Land Tenure Implementation Committee Chairman, Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei, has donated US$200,000 to Kuwadzana Primary School and Banket District Hospital in Banket, Mashonaland West Province.

The donation was announced during his address at the Mashonaland West Province ZANU PF Provincial Coordination Committee meeting in Chinhoyi, where Tagwirei paid tribute to the institutions that played a significant role in his formative years.

“I did my grade one and two at Kuwadzana Primary School, where my mother was a teacher with my father working at Magaisa’s farm,” he revealed, expressing his gratitude for the foundation laid by the institutions.

“I do not know how best I can do it to ensure that Banket Hospital gets the essential equipment it needs to use, as the hospital is the one that contributed to me being here, and my mother was a teacher at Kuwadzana Primary School before we relocated,” he said to thunderous applause.

The meeting focused on implementing resolutions adopted at the party’s National People’s Conference, with senior party officials emphasizing unity, discipline, and productivity.

Dr Tagwirei highlighted the successes of the land tenure programme, describing it as a cornerstone for agricultural transformation, investor confidence, and long-term land security for beneficiaries.

“As a nation, we have come a long way in securing our land and ensuring that every farmer has confidence in their investment. The land tenure programme is giving farmers the security they need to plan long term, to attract financing, and to improve productivity,” he said.

The programme is expected to boost agricultural productivity, unlock secure investment, and contribute to the province’s goal of becoming the country’s breadbasket.

Provincial Chairperson Cde Mary Mliswa commended Mashonaland West delegates for maintaining discipline and unity during the National People’s Conference, while Politburo Member Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi urged party members to seize opportunities created by the government and the ruling party.

Mashonaland West Province Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Marian Chombo, said the province is on track to achieve its goal, with the land tenure programme expected to have a positive impact on agriculture and the local economy.

The donation was seen as a gesture of appreciation by Dr Tagwirei, who has risen to prominence in the party and government, and is now giving back to the community that nurtured him.
