The Central Committee is the principal organ of Congress which acts on its behalf when it is not in session. It is important that we understand how one becomes a ZANU PF Central Committee member. Becoming a ZANU PF Central Committee member involves a combination of party loyalty, leadership, and strategic connections. The first requirement is that one must be a member of ZANU PF, which requires adherence to the party’s principles, values, and constitution. It is not enough to be just a member of ZANU PF, you must be seriously involved at a Provincial level. Active participation in provincial party structures, such as attending meetings and taking on leadership roles, can increase your visibility and credibility within the party. This should illuminate your leadership skills which are shown through leadership qualities. It is again a key element to be holding leadership positions within the party, such as chairman or secretary, can demonstrate your capabilities and commitment to the party’s goals. Passage to the Central Committee must never be cleared by money. Constitutionally one needs to be recommended by his provincial executive or other senior party members, highlighting your contributions, loyalty, and potential value to the Central Committee. It is that commitment which drives the recommendation to the Central committee. Central Committee members may be Coopted by national leadership and not provincial leadership. This may be done after considering your expertise, influence, and dedication to the party’s objectives.
