Plans are seriously underway for the office of the pope to spearhead a world wide union off all Christians under one banner of peace and love. Now the death of Pope Francis has thrown the papacy . As the pope is a very important figure in the catholic religion a new pope will be chosen in the upcoming 2025 papal conclave.Catholicism is covered in deep spiritual secrecy. So A papal conclave is a secret gathering of the College of Cardinals in the Catholic Church, convened to elect a new father bishop of Rome, who will takeover the office of Pope. The secret method of selecting the Pope who wears two important jackets has remained active to this date. The carefully selected cardinals assemble in the Sistine Chapel to choose the next spiritual leader of the church who will become the head of state of The Vatican. Cardinals under the age of 80 are typically not eligible to participate in the conclave; however, there have been recent exceptions.A two-thirds supermajority vote is required to elect a new Pope. This is the process used in many political governments that two thirds majority should amend the constitution. In a very guarded manner reminiscent of the jurors in a serious trial the cardinals are secluded in the Sistine Chapel, with limited contact with the outside world, to ensure the integrity of the election process.The Dean of the College of Cardinals, or the Vice-Dean if the Dean is unable to participate, presides over the conclave.The Dean of the College of Cardinals is the president of the College of Cardinals in the Catholic Church, serving as “first among equals” (primus inter pares).
