Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has launched a scathing attack on his detained business associates, Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu, labeling them as “incompetent idiots” and “petty criminals”.

Chivayo’s comments come after Chimombe and Mpofu’s arrest for their alleged involvement in the US$7.7 million Presidential Goats Scheme and the US$9.2 million street lights tender. The two are accused of misrepresenting themselves and prejudicing the government by not delivering on their contracts and misappropriating funds for personal gain.

Chivayo claims that Chimombe and Mpofu’s conviction for fraud is inevitable. He alleges that the duo’s actions were reckless and irresponsible, and that they have brought shame to the business community.

“It’s a matter of time before they are convicted and sentenced,” Chivayo said. “Their actions were a clear case of fraud and misrepresentation. They thought they could get away with it, but they were wrong.”

It is believed that the duo leaked Chivayo’s audio recording in an effort to tarnish his image and bring him down, without first weighing the gravity of their actions. The saying “he who lives in a house of glass must not throw stones” came to pass, as their own misdeeds have now been exposed.

Sources close to the matter suggest that Chimombe and Mpofu were jealous of Chivayo’s rising popularity and thought of taking him down, believing he had outsmarted them. However, their plan backfired, and they are now facing the consequences of their actions.

The arrests are a testament to the Second Republic’s commitment to fighting corruption and graft. Since taking office, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated, and that those found guilty will face the full force of the law.

The government’s efforts to root out corruption have been consistent and unwavering, with several high-profile cases making headlines in recent months. The message is clear: corruption will not be tolerated, and those who engage in it will face the consequences.

Chivayo’s comments have sparked debate, with some praising him for speaking out against corruption. His opinions carry significant weight in Zimbabwe’s business community.

The case against Chimombe and Mpofu is ongoing, with many eagerly awaiting the outcome. As the drama unfolds, one thing is certain – Wicknell Chivayo will be watching with great interest.

The Second Republic’s fight against corruption is a welcome development for many Zimbabweans, who have grown tired of the scourge of corruption that has held the country back for so long. With the government’s commitment to rooting out corruption, there is hope that Zimbabwe can finally move forward and reach its full potential.
