By Ilyana Sithole A 22-year-old woman, Patience Gelly Moyo, is facing murder charges after allegedly killing her 14-month-old son.According to court records, Moyo picked up her child from the kitchen hut on September 6, 2024, and took him outside. She then threw the baby onto a rocky surface, causing fatal injuries.After realizing the child was dead, Moyo placed the body on her bed, locked the door, and went to the garden. Upon her return, she informed her mother-in-law of the tragic incident.A subsequent post-mortem revealed that the baby’s death was a result of assault. Moyo was arrested and charged with murder.She appeared before the Lupane Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody until October 1, 2024, to allow for further police investigations and medical examinations by two doctors in accordance with the Mental Health Act.
