This alarming trend has sparked widespread concern among stakeholders, underscoring the urgent need for improved training and practices.To address this issue, the Young Miners Foundation will host an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training program in Mhangura from September 30 to October 2. This comprehensive initiative aims to enhance local miners’ skills and knowledge, promoting a safer and more responsible mining community.Payne Farai Kupfuwa, CEO of Young Miners Foundation, emphasized the importance of this initiative. “By taking our training program to Mhangura, we ensure that no miner is left behind in terms of best practices,” Kupfuwa said. He highlighted the critical role of mining safety, environmental responsibility, and conservation in the industry.“Environmental conservation is paramount in mining,” Kupfuwa stressed. “Mining activities must prioritize environmental factors, minimizing harm to ecosystems and promoting sustainable development.” He emphasized responsible mining practices safeguard the environment and ensure long-term operational viability.The training program will be held at the Mhangura Recreational Club.
