A member of the Zimbabwe National Army, Kudzai Mutize, was found dead at his Churu Farm home , sparking widespread shock and speculation.

According to eyewitnesses, Mutize’s body was discovered hanging in the house, with sources close to the family revealing a recent altercation with his wife over infidelity issues.

“We are still waiting for the postmortem results to know exactly what transpired,” said Obey Mutize, the deceased’s brother.

The family suspects foul play, and the incident has left the community reeling.

His friend Albert Havazvidi described him as “a good man, friendly to everyone.”

“I last saw him around 4 pm yesterday when he told me he was going to pick up his wife from work. He had asked her to wait for him at Amalinda road but she defied his instructions and started walking home and this sparked their argument. They had a heated argument, and it seemed like things were getting out of hand. “

“I never thought it would escalate to this. He was a peaceful man, but I guess the infidelity allegations pushed him over the edge. I’m still trying to process what happened.”

Meanwhile, his workmates Tichinani Trust and Zvokuonera Pearson, both members of the Zimbabwe National Army ( ZNA) , expressed their suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his death.

“We found him hanged, but kneeling on his bed, which doesn’t add up,” said Tichinani .

Zvokuonera added, “We asked the wife about the argument, and she said Mutize dragged her by her braids and clenched her throat with his hand. But she didn’t say anything further after that. We’re suspecting she might have attacked him on vulnerable body parts while trying to free herself from his grip.”

Neighbour Mutsa Manhuwa revealed that the couple had a history of fighting and disputing.

“They would often argue and shout at each other,” she said. “It’s sad that it ended like this.”

The community and family members now await postmortem results.
